family sessions in 2025

Family Cycling at Herne Hill Velodrome!

Looking for a fun activity for the whole family? Our Family Sessions at Herne Hill Velodrome offer exciting cycling experiences where the youth and their grown-ups get to ride together. Come ride, laugh, and make the most of your time as a family! 🌟 Plus - it’s not just about the cycling - this year we’re introducing bike workshops so you always know that your bike(s) are ready to ride.

Family Track Sessions

In 2025 we’ll hold a family track session on Mothers Day (30 March) and Fathers Day (15 June).

Keep your eyes peeled for more to come! Sometimes we will do them on bank holidays or in school holidays.

Family track sessions are a great opportunity for young riders and their grown-ups to ride together in a fun and friendly track session. As well as the essential track skills, we will include lots of games and races to make it a fun session for all. Can the adults keep up with the kids?

Quick Fixes for Busy Mums: Empowering you to make small adjustments and fixes in a hurry

How the f!#k does a bike work???

Is your child ready for their session, but something’s not quite right with their track bike? This one-hour class is here to give you the skills and confidence to quickly make bike adjustments or repairs, or flag issues to the coach.

We know it can be tough to figure out the best way to handle bike issues when you’re in a rush, so we’ve made sure to cover the basics that will help you help your child. This is a small group (only 4 students), hands-on class, so come with your questions and we’ll make sure you feel comfortable with:

  • Ensuring the bike is safe to ride

  • How to use tools

  • Adjusting saddle height

  • Changing pedals, the easy way

  • How to pump up tyres (and how much to pump them up too!)

Whether it’s prepping for a session on the track, trails, or the inner track, you’ll leave this class feeling confident and ready to tackle those little bike fixes!

Mums Track Taster

This special session has been organised by mums, will be coached by mums and is exclusively for mums!

Track Cycling offers the oppportunity to get some exercise and social time all in one, away from cars. Even if you're not looking for a new hobby, giving track cycling a go will tick that extra thing off your bucket list and give you a new perspective on what's possible in cycling.
