Herne Hill Velodrome partner with Frog Bikes for kids sessions in 2021
Herne Hill Velodrome is pleased to announce Frog Bikes as the official kids bike partner from January 2021. Frog Bikes will provide all pedal bikes for kids across a range of cycling activities, including track, and hybrid bikes. They will sponsor our popular under 8’s pedal bike sessions, of which there are at least 7 sessions per week.
Frog Bikes sessions teach children from different backgrounds how to ride pedal bikes with confidence, and foster a generation of healthy, active and happy children with positive lifelong habits. The partnership with Frog Bikes means that Herne Hill Velodrome will be able to increase the number of children able to access cycling sessions using lightweight, high quality and reliable track and freewheel bikes. We are delighted that Frog Bikes continues its commitment to supporting grassroots cycling and local cycling communities.
Within this partnership, Herne Hill Velodrome will be able to keep its kids’ bike fleet fresh and up to date by purchasing several new bikes at a discounted price each year and sell used Frog Bikes after 3-4 years to help fund new Frog Bikes for the Herne Hill Velodrome fleet. We look forward to seeing these affordable second-hand bikes make a difference to families in our community.
We have already been able to completely overhaul our existing fleets of children’s track bikes and under 8s hybrid bikes thanks to this partnership, funding from the Rapha Foundation and an anonymous donation made through the Friends of Herne Hill Velodrome. So once we’re able to re-open for sessions kids visiting the track will have access to more than 60 brand new Frog bikes.
Frog Bikes will also support an annual competition to win a Frog bike and branded accessories and clothing as prizes for HHV’s Frog Pedal Bike Club participants. Frog will feature regularly on Herne Hill Velodrome’s social media channels and newsletter, where details of sessions, competitions and sales will be updated.
