HHV Private Storage Hook Hire / User Agreement 2024/2025
Please read the following ‘Terms and Conditions for Bike Storage at Herne Hill Velodrome.
By paying the annual hook hire fee, you hereby acknowledge that you have read these Terms and Conditions for Bike Storage at Herne Hill Velodrome, and undertake to abide by, conform to and agree with them. By paying your hook hire fee you also agree that this forms a contract between yourself and the Herne Hill Velodrome Trust.
Terms and Conditions for Bike Storage at Herne Hill Velodrome
1. Obligations of the parties
1.1 – In consideration of the hire of a bike storage space by the HHVT to the Hirer, the hirer shall pay such hire charges as required under these terms and conditions.
1.2 – In consideration of payment by the Hirer, and compliance by the Hirer of these terms and conditions, the HHVT will hire the bike storage space to the Hirer.
1.3 – The Hirer shall be deemed to have read and understood and agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
2. Procedure
2.1 – The prospective Hirer will be required to read these Terms and Conditions and make the appropriate payment to HHVT within the time frame outlined on the invoice.
2.2 – Invoices will be supplied via email and include both payment buttons and BACS details, or may be paid via Direct Debit
2.3 – An annual fee is payable for storage between 1st April and 31st March each year (a storage year). For the period 1st April 2024 to 31st March 2025 the fee is £90. The fee may be increased annually.
2.4 – If starting to store a bike part way through a storage year, the fee is prorated for the number of months remaining until 31st March with the full ‘monthly’ amount payable for any part month.
2.5 – Upon receipt of payment, the HHVT will allocate a storage hook to the Hirer.
2.6 – Only one bike or bike frame may be stored in each bay and must be stored in the direction of the arrow above the hook.
2.7 – No other items are to be left in the bike store at any time. Please refrain from keeping additional bulky items in the container. These may be removed.
2.8 – Bikes stored in the wrong bay, or bikes stored in the container without due payment may be removed without notice.
2.9 – Due care must be taken when placing bikes into storage and when removing from storage. Be mindful of other users.
2.10 – HHVT will ensure that owners are contacted when the hire period expires. If at the end of a storage year, the fees for the next 12 months remain unpaid for more than twenty-eight (28) days after the date due for payment, we reserve the right to remove your bike so that the hook is available for use by another customer and your bike may be donated to charity if unclaimed for a period of over 6 months. Any loss or damage caused to a bike or its components during transport, use or alternate storage will not be the the responsibility of HHVT.
2.11 – There will be no refunds to those who remove their bike in advance of the expiry date, except where this is as a result of circumstances which are the responsibility of the HHVT, the leaseholders or the landowners. In this instance a refund will be made prorate to the hire period and to the amount initially charged to the Hirer.
3. Security
3.1.1 – The Hirer must take responsibility to provide adequate security for the bike within the container.
3.1.2 – HHVT will open the container when required, or at the start of public track sessions/meetings, and will padlock it again at the end of them. The container may, under certain circumstances, remain open and unlocked during track sessions, race meetings or events.
3.2 – Neither HHVT, nor the leaseholders, nor the landowners may be held in any way responsible for the theft or loss of any bikes or any damage or vandalism to any bike or bike frame, or any parts or accessories which are stored on these premises, however this may be caused.
